Many rural regions lack access to paved roads even today, depriving them of access to economic opportunities. Shilpa Aggarwal, Assistant Professor of Economics and Public Policy at ISB shares her research on the socio-economic impact of new road connectivity granted under the Indian government’s Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) to villages that lacked the access earlier.
